1. YouTube Premium Price Revisions

YouTube is increasing its Premium individual plan from $13.99 to $15.99 and the family plan from $22.99 to $26.99 per month. The Premium Lite tier, which removes most ads but excludes music features, will climb from $7.99 to $8.99.

2. YouTube Music Subscription Adjustments

YouTube Music’s individual plan will rise from $10.99 to $11.99 per month while the family plan increases from $16.99 to $18.99. These changes apply immediately for new sign-ups, with existing subscribers moving to the new rates starting in June.

3. Billing Timeline and Subscriber Impact

Current YouTube Premium and Music members will receive email notifications at least one month before their billing cycles reflect the new prices. The last price update occurred in July 2023, and this is the first adjustment since that round of increases.

4. Industry Pricing Context

The rise follows a broader pattern of streaming services raising subscription fees, including Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, Peacock, and Spotify. YouTube’s update aims to support its creators and sustain feature investments across a global base of 125 million Premium and Music subscribers.
