Yum! Brands Approves Collins Foods’ €31.1M Purchase of Eight German KFC Outlets

Collins Foods will acquire eight KFC restaurants in Germany for €31.1m ($36.08m) plus working capital, with Yum! Brands granting conditional approval ahead of a May–June 2026 closing. The deal boosts Collins Foods’ German portfolio by close to 50% and expands development agreements to 45–90 new sites.

1. Acquisition Agreement

Collins Foods agreed to purchase eight KFC outlets in Bavaria from JJ Restaurant for approximately €31.1m ($36.08m) plus working capital. Yum! Brands granted conditional approval for the transaction, which is expected to close between May and June 2026.

2. German Portfolio Expansion

The eight acquired outlets represent nearly a 50% increase in Collins Foods’ existing German portfolio, concentrated around Munich. Revised development agreements now envision between 45 and 90 new KFC openings over the next four years across Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria.

3. Netherlands Franchise Extension

Collins Foods extended its corporate franchise agreement in the Netherlands by three years to December 31, 2029. Under the revised terms, Yum! Brands will assume responsibility for all marketing activities from January 1, 2027, while Collins Foods continues to handle operations, IT, supply chain and sub-franchisee management.
