Zelenskiy says letting Russia sell diesel to US is 'investment in war'
USO•Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy criticised an accord allowing Russia to supply diesel to the US, calling it “an investment in a war that must be ended.” Donald Trump said the arrangement followed a call with Vladimir Putin and that lower prices for Americans were his “Greatest Priority.”
1. Zelenskiy criticises accord
Zelenskiy said the agreement would provide Moscow with additional funds to wage war and undermine efforts to reach a settlement. He called it “a weak decision on the part of strong partners” and said, “Gifts to Putin will not bring peace or any benefit to the civilised world.”
2. Trump cites lower prices
Trump said in a social media post that he had agreed with Putin in a call that Russia would immediately supply diesel to the US and global marketplace. He said lower prices for Americans were his “Greatest Priority.” Zelenskiy said a Ukrainian delegation was in the US to discuss how to seek a resolution to the war.
