Zentek Secures Eight-Year Exclusive U.S. License for EPA-Registered Silver-Enhanced Air Filters
ZTEK•Zentek secured an eight-year exclusive U.S. license to integrate Applied Silver’s EPA-registered silver technology into its ZenGUARD™ air filtration media across HVAC, cleanroom and personal protective applications. The agreement automatically renews for successive three-year terms and positions Zentek to enter a U.S. air filtration market consuming 75% of national electricity.
1. Exclusive U.S. License Agreement
On June 26, 2026, Zentek entered an exclusive agreement with Applied Silver granting eight-year rights to incorporate EPA-registered silver ion technology into ZenGUARD™ filtration media in HVAC, cleanroom, healthcare, transportation cabin air and personal respiratory protection applications. The license is subject to volume thresholds and automatically renews for successive three-year terms.
2. U.S. Air Filtration Market Opportunity
The U.S. indoor air quality market is driven by building decarbonization and regulatory focus on energy efficiency, with the Department of Energy estimating buildings consume 40% of national energy and 75% of electricity. This structural demand creates a large addressable market for advanced filtration media that enhance air quality without increasing energy use.
3. ZenGUARD™ Enhanced Filtration Media Features
ZenGUARD™ media leverages graphene-based materials and silver ion technology to mechanically disrupt microbe-carrying aerosols while maintaining low pressure drop, minimizing energy consumption and carbon emissions. The media supports longer filter life and fewer changeouts, reducing labor and disposal costs, and can be converted into various sizes for compatibility with existing systems.
4. Commercialization and Manufacturing Partnership
Zentek plans to collaborate with U.S.-based Quality Filters Inc. to manufacture and distribute ZenGUARD™ Enhanced Air Filtration Media, targeting commercial, institutional, residential and industrial customers seeking improved indoor air safety and lower total cost of ownership.
