374Water AirSCWO Test Success Unlocks $3M Revenue and 99.99% PFAS Destruction
SCWO•374Water completed the Factory Acceptance Test for its AirSCWO system for Orange County Sanitation District, unlocking next-phase deployment in October and $3M in remaining contract revenue. The system reduces biosolids by 97% and achieves over 99.99% PFAS destruction, converting organic waste to water, minerals, and energy.
1. Factory Acceptance Test Completion
374Water finished the Factory Acceptance Test for its AirSCWO system at Orange County Sanitation District, meeting critical delivery and performance milestones. This completion activates the next deployment phase planned for October and unlocks the final $3 million of the OC San contract.
2. Technology Capabilities and Performance
The AirSCWO system achieved a 97% reduction in biosolids volume and over 99.99% destruction of PFAS, pharmaceuticals, and microplastics. Designed for industrial reliability, it converts organic waste streams into safe water, inert minerals, and recoverable heat energy, supporting scalable municipal operations.
3. OC San Partnership and Commercial Outlook
With permitting and site-readiness coordination underway, 374Water and OC San aim to commission the unit in California later this year. Successful field performance at a facility treating 180 million gallons daily could propel broader adoption across thousands of wastewater plants facing stricter disposal regulations.
