Ackman Cuts Alphabet Exposure by 86% and Adds 2.67M-Share Meta Stake

Pershing Square cut its Alphabet Inc Class A position by 86% and trimmed Class C shares by 2% in Q4, while launching a new 2.67 million-share Meta stake and boosting its Amazon holding by 65%. Alphabet’s Class C shares now constitute $1.9 billion (13%) of the fund’s portfolio.

1. Q4 Portfolio Changes

In the fourth quarter, Pershing Square Capital opened a 2.67 million–share position in Meta Platforms, increased its Amazon.com stake by 65% and lifted its Brookfield holding by 50%, while exiting Chipotle and adjusting other assets.

2. Alphabet Exposure Reduction

The fund reduced its Alphabet Inc Class C position by 2% and its Class A shares by 86%, marking a second straight quarter of scaling back on Alphabet exposure.

3. Portfolio Weightings

At quarter-end, Alphabet Class C represents $1.9 billion or 13% of the fund’s assets, ranking behind Brookfield (18%), Uber (16%) and Amazon (14%), with Meta Platforms at 11%.
