Acumen says EBD candidate ACU401 boosts brain exposure up to 40-fold in primate study
ABOS•Primate study data on ACU401
Acumen presented non-human primate data for its Enhanced Brain Delivery bispecific antibody program targeting Aβ oligomers via transferrin receptor transport.
Lead candidate ACU401 reached up to 40-fold higher frontal cortex exposure at 24 hours versus ACU234 alone; other constructs showed at least 14-fold higher exposure.
Safety findings and development outlook
The study reported no hematological safety signals in cynomolgus monkeys, reducing concern about anemia risk from transferrin receptor targeting.
The results support advancing an EBD construct toward clinical trials, with the aim of lowering the required dose and enabling low-volume delivery devices.
