ADM plans voluntary carbon removal credits from 800,000-ton-a-year Nebraska CCS facility

ADM plans to enter the voluntary carbon dioxide removal market using credits from its Columbus, Nebraska carbon capture operations.

The offering targets more than 800,000 tons a year of removals tied to biogenic CO2 captured from ethanol fermentation.

Credits are undergoing certification by Puro.earth under its Geologically Stored Carbon methodology, with initial issuance expected by year end.

CO2 is transported to Tallgrass’s Eastern Wyoming Sequestration Hub for permanent underground storage under a Wyoming Class VI permit.

Successful verification would start a 15-year crediting period for the Columbus facility.
