Airshare to Equip Phenom 300 Fleet with Gogo Galileo HDX at 60 Mbps Speeds
GOGO•Gogo will equip Airshare's Embraer Phenom 300 fleet with its Gogo Galileo HDX system starting installations this month in Wichita, offering electronically steered antennas capable of up to 60 Mbps. A one-hour demo with 23 devices, eight passengers and two crew transferred 16 GB while streaming 4K video, conferencing and bandwidth-intensive apps.
1. Partnership Details
Gogo has secured a deal with Airshare to retrofit its fleet of Embraer Phenom 300 business jets with the Gogo Galileo HDX connectivity system. Installations begin this month at Airshare's Wichita, Kansas maintenance facility, marking the first deployment of Galileo HDX on a fractional ownership operator's fleet.
2. Demonstration Flight Performance
During a one-hour validation flight, the Galileo HDX system supported 23 connected devices across eight passengers and two crew, transferring more than 16 GB of data. Passengers simultaneously streamed 4K video, accessed DirecTV Stream and Hulu, used FaceTime and Microsoft Teams conferencing, and ran iperf tests without interruption.
3. Technology and Network
Galileo HDX uses an electronically steered antenna on the Eutelsat OneWeb LEO network to deliver consistent global coverage and speeds up to 60 Mbps. The compact, lightweight ESA design minimizes drag and installation time, enabling Airshare to offer office-grade connectivity on smaller cabin aircraft.
