Alaska Airlines Promotes Brookman to VP as It Invests $3B in Hub Airports
Ben Brookman has been promoted to Vice President of Real Estate and Airport Affairs at Alaska Airlines to lead its airport access, infrastructure and corporate real estate strategy. The carrier is investing more than $3 billion in hub airports and will serve over 140 destinations, including five intercontinental markets.
1. Leadership Transition
Ben Brookman, an aviation industry veteran with 17 years of experience, has been named Vice President of Real Estate and Airport Affairs. He will report to Shane Jones and oversee Alaska Airlines’ strategy for airport access, infrastructure and corporate real estate as Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines integrate operations.
2. Real Estate Investment Strategy
The airline is allocating more than $3 billion to upgrade and expand hub airport facilities, focusing on infrastructure improvements, lease negotiations and operating agreements. Brookman will lead negotiations and master planning to support long-term network growth and operational efficiency.
3. Global Network Expansion
Alaska Airlines’ network now spans over 140 destinations, including 29 international markets. Starting this spring, five intercontinental routes from Seattle to Rome, London Heathrow, Reykjavik, Tokyo Narita and Seoul Incheon will bolster the carrier’s Europe and Asia offerings.
