Alaska and Hawaiian Deploy Free Starlink Wi-Fi on 150 Aircraft and Launch AI Platform
ALK•Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines equipped about 150 aircraft with Starlink Wi-Fi, offering complimentary gate-to-gate connectivity to Atmos Rewards members thanks to a T-Mobile partnership, with full fleet activation by mid-July. The carrier also launched Volantio’s AI-driven Vector platform for capacity optimization, targeting cost reductions and revenue uplift.
1. Wi-Fi Rollout Accelerates Connectivity
Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have installed Starlink Wi-Fi across their regional fleet and first 50 mainline jets, totalling about 150 aircraft, offering complimentary gate-to-gate connectivity for Atmos Rewards members. Full fleet activation is set for mid-July, powered by T-Mobile, with an onboard portal streamlining enrollment and access.
2. AI Operating Platform Drives Efficiency
Alaska Airlines is the inaugural launch partner for Volantio’s Vector platform, an AI-driven operating system that uses specialized agents to reallocate demand and capacity in real time. The platform aims to optimize revenue, reduce operational costs, and improve passenger experiences by matching demand with available seats.
