AAUC•Allied Gold said commissioning at its Kurmuk Mine in western Ethiopia is complete and operations have begun. The mine plan calls for at least 240,000 ounces of annual life-of-mine output, averaging about 300,000 ounces a year in its first four years.
1. Kurmuk operations begin
Allied Gold said commissioning at its Kurmuk Mine in western Ethiopia is complete and operations have begun. First ore is expected to reach the grinding circuit imminently, with first gold expected shortly thereafter. The mine plan calls for at least 240,000 ounces of annual life-of-mine output, averaging about 300,000 ounces a year in the first four years.
2. Exploration targets growth
Drilling extended the Ashashire and Dish Mountain deposits beyond current pit limits, supporting potential reserve growth from 2.7 million ounces of proven and probable reserves. An initial mineral resource estimate for the Tsenge Trend, targeting Kiftet and Hiccup Hill, is expected in the first half of 2027 to support a mine-life extension.
