On July 2, the EU’s top court dismissed Alphabet’s final appeal of the 2018 Android antitrust ruling, confirming a €4.1 billion penalty for bundling Google Search and Chrome on Android devices. The decision removes further legal uncertainty and may increase compliance costs and provisions on Alphabet’s balance sheet.
2. Intesa Sanpaolo Selects Google Cloud for Core Banking
Intesa Sanpaolo entered a multi-year contract to transition its core IT banking systems—including digital services, data analytics, and risk management—to Google Cloud.
