1. NV Energy Ends Tahoe Power Supply

NV Energy will halt wholesale electricity deliveries to the Lake Tahoe region after May 2027, cutting off three-quarters of Liberty Utilities’ current supply that feeds Google’s expanding AI data centers. Liberty plans a formal procurement process in summer 2026 but warns that new transmission infrastructure could cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

2. Alphabet-Fanuc AI Robotics Partnership

Alphabet’s Intrinsic unit and Fanuc announced a partnership to integrate Google’s Gemini Enterprise AI into industrial robots, enabling them to interpret human instructions, recognize objects, and coordinate multi-machine operations. Fanuc has shipped over 1,000 physical AI-enabled robots since December and will showcase its AI agent system later this month, demonstrating Google’s hardware expansion.
