Amazon commits multibillion-dollar Missouri data center, 400 jobs and infrastructure upgrades
AMZN•Amazon will invest several billion dollars in a new data center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri, creating over 400 permanent jobs and thousands of construction positions while generating hundreds of millions in tax revenue. The campus will use outside-air cooling less than 7% of the year, deploy rainwater harvesting and water recycling systems and reduce groundwater withdrawals by 100 million gallons annually without passing costs to local electricity customers.

Amazon will invest several billion dollars in a new data center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri, creating over 400 permanent data center jobs and thousands of construction positions to support growing demand for cloud computing and AI infrastructure.
2. Community funding and infrastructure
The company committed more than $7 million to local initiatives, including $3 million for emergency dispatch services, $1 million for a new fairgrounds gathering space and over $3 million for STEM education, workforce development and nonprofit support, alongside road, bridge and water system upgrades that will be transferred at no cost to the county.
3. Environmental design and water savings
Designed for efficiency, the campus will rely on outside-air cooling under 7% of the year, deploy rainwater harvesting and recycling systems and partner on a project expected to reduce groundwater withdrawals by 100 million gallons annually.
4. Missouri footprint and economic impact
This investment expands Amazon’s existing Missouri presence, where it employs more than 10,000 workers and has contributed over $9 billion to the state’s GDP since 2010.
