Amazon signed a multiyear licensing deal with Oprah Winfrey to launch twice-weekly video and audio podcasts across Prime Video, Amazon Music, Fire TV Channels and Audible starting this summer, leveraging her 25-season show library and sharing ad revenue. OpenAI’s end of Microsoft exclusivity lets AWS compete to host ChatGPT models.
1. Oprah Winfrey Podcast Licensing Deal
Amazon’s Wondery unit secured a multiyear agreement with Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Entertainment to produce two video podcasts per week starting this summer. Programming will stream on Prime Video, Amazon Music, Fire TV Channels and Audible, include specials tied to Favorite Things and Book Club brands, and leverage Winfrey’s 25-season show library with shared advertising revenues.
2. OpenAI’s Cloud Partnership Expansion
OpenAI removed Microsoft exclusivity for its AI models, enabling Amazon Web Services to host and distribute ChatGPT technology alongside rival cloud platforms. AWS now competes to provide primary infrastructure for future OpenAI products, potentially driving incremental cloud services revenue and strengthening its position in the AI market.
