Amazon Seeks 24-Month FCC Extension for 1,600 Project Kuiper Satellites
Amazon has asked the FCC for a 24-month extension to July 2028 to deploy roughly 1,600 Project Kuiper internet satellites due by July 2026, citing rocket shortages, manufacturing disruptions and spaceport constraints. It has launched over 150 satellites since April, earmarked $10 billion for Leo and booked 100+ launches.
