Amazon Targets 1,000 Indian Delivery Centers and $26B Prime Day Sales Surge
AMZN•Amazon Now operates over 500 micro-fulfillment centers in 15 Indian cities and will expand to 1,000 centers across 100 cities, intensifying its fast-delivery network to rival Flipkart’s current 1,000 Minutes centers. Prime Day is projected to generate over $26 billion in four-day US sales, a 9% increase from last year.
1. Indian Quick-Commerce Expansion
Flipkart Minutes has established 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers since launch and plans to reach 1,500 by the end of 2026, positioning it as the second-largest network behind Blinkit’s 2,243 centers. Amazon Now currently operates over 500 centers in more than 15 Indian cities and aims to expand to 1,000 micro-fulfillment centers across 100 cities while broadening its assortment beyond groceries into apparel, electronics and home products.
2. Prime Day Sales Outlook
Prime Day is forecast to drive over $26 billion in four-day US sales, a 9% increase from last year and surpassing combined Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2025 volumes. Amazon is offering discounts up to 50% on Ring cameras and up to 27% on AirPods Max 2, while shoppers can stack promo codes, cashback portals and rewards credit cards to maximize savings.
