Americas Gold and Silver’s $60–80M Galena Complex Upgrades Boost Backfill Output 250%

USASUSAS

Americas Gold and Silver is deploying its $60–80 million budget at Idaho’s Galena Complex with a Q4 2026 paste backfill plant boosting cycle speed 250% and hoisting capacity 150% to 1,350 stpd. Mill upgrades and new flotation cells aim to raise throughput from 750 to 1,200 stpd by year-end.

1. Capital Projects Overview

Americas Gold and Silver is executing a $60–80 million capital program at its Idaho Galena Complex to support growth. Major initiatives include a surface paste backfill plant, phased upgrades to the No. 3 shaft hoisting system, fiber-optic communications, repurposing the Galena Shaft, and mill expansions.

2. Capacity and Efficiency Upgrades

Key deliverables include paste plant equipment deliveries beginning June 2026 with Q4 commissioning to produce 93 stph and accelerate backfill cycles by 250%. No. 3 shaft hoist Phase 1 is complete and Phase 2 will boost hoisting capacity by 150% to 1,350 stpd. Fiber-optic installation and new flotation cells target full mine connectivity and mill throughput increase from 750 to 1,200 stpd by year-end.

3. Crescent Mine Rehabilitation and Development

At the newly acquired Crescent Mine, critical safety, power, ventilation, communications, and water systems have been fully restored. More than 650 feet of underground development were completed in Q1, with an additional 2,000 feet planned in Q2 to support resource drilling and future mining.

4. Performance Gains and Outlook

The Galena Full Potential continuous improvement program has already delivered a 15% uplift in hoisting productivity, 8–14% improvements in mobile equipment availability, and demonstrated a 35% increase in maximum mill throughput. Leadership expects these operational enhancements to underpin production growth and efficiency across the complex.
