Apple’s App Store Drives $1.4 Trillion in 2025 Sales, China Tops at $562B

The Analysis Group study shows Apple’s App Store facilitated $1.4 trillion in customer billings during 2025, more than doubling the 2019 level. Digital goods and services rose 2.4x, physical goods and services increased 2.8x, and in-app advertising revenue climbed 2.9x over the period.
2. Regional Sales Distribution
China accounted for the largest share of App Store billings at $562 billion, followed by the US with $453 billion, Europe at $184 billion, and Japan at $52 billion. These four regions together represent the bulk of the platform’s global economic activity.
3. Commission Structure and Services Impact
Apple collected commissions on less than 10% of the $1.4 trillion in billings, charging a standard 30% fee on digital goods and a 15% fee for developers in its Small Business and partner programs. App Store revenue is reported within the Services segment, which contributed $109.1 billion of the $416.1 billion in total fiscal 2025 revenue.
