Applied Optoelectronics Nets $71M Upsized 800G Transceiver Order, Doubles Backlog

Applied Optoelectronics has received a $71M order for 800G single-mode data center transceivers from a major hyperscale customer, taking total orders from that client to $124M since mid-March and doubling its backlog. Deliveries of the initial $53M and this new order will start in Q2, with full completion by year-end.

Applied Optoelectronics secured a $71 million order for 800G single-mode data center transceivers from a major hyperscale customer, marking the second upsized order since mid-March.

2. Robust Customer Demand Drives Backlog

Total orders from the same customer now total $124 million, more than doubling AOI’s existing backlog from that client and highlighting strong hyperscale demand for high-speed optics.

3. Delivery Schedule and Expansion Plans

Following product qualification, AOI plans to deliver the initial $53 million order and the new $71 million order starting in Q2, with full completion by year-end, and has already shipped 10,000 units to another hyperscale datacenter client.
