Ardelyx reports real-world study shows lower GI-related healthcare visits after IBSRELA start in IBS-C patients
ARDX•Ardelyx said an analysis found gastrointestinal-related healthcare visits fell in the year after adults with IBS-C started IBSRELA, compared with the prior year. The results were presented at the American College of Gastroenterology meeting.
1. Study findings
Ardelyx disclosed real-world study results on IBSRELA use in adults with IBS-C. The analysis found gastrointestinal-related healthcare visits fell meaningfully in the year after treatment began versus the previous year.
2. Other research
Separate posters scheduled for Oct. 13 will outline a Phase 3 trial design for tenapanor in chronic idiopathic constipation. Additional research to be presented links higher IBS-C symptom burden with poorer quality of life in US adults.
