ARK Invest Loads 3.29M SpaceX Shares on $75B Nasdaq Debut, Sells Rocket Lab
NDAQ•ARK Invest purchased 3.29 million SpaceX shares across four ETFs on the day of the $75 billion Nasdaq debut, making the position 6.89% of ARKX and over 11% of ARK Venture Fund's assets. Simultaneously, the firm offloaded roughly $223 million in 20 stocks, including Rocket Lab.
1. ARK Invest SpaceX Acquisition
ARK Invest acquired a total of 3.29 million shares of SpaceX across its ARKK, ARKQ, ARKW and ARKX ETFs on June 12, making the position 6.89% of ARKX and ranking it among the top holdings in the fund.
2. Simultaneous Rocket Lab Divestment
On the same trading day, the firm trimmed its Rocket Lab stake in ARKQ and ARKX, exiting part of its exposure to the small-lift launch competitor to finance the new SpaceX position.
3. Record Nasdaq Debut of SpaceX
SpaceX raised $75 billion from selling 555.6 million shares in what became the largest public market debut in history, with the stock opening up over 3% in after-hours trading on Nasdaq.
