Ascent Solar Technologies named Tom Bawol director of strategic sales and market development.
Bawol previously served more than 20 years in the U.S. Army Special Forces, later working in energy infrastructure and federal technology sales.
Retired Lt. Gen. Steve Smith joined the strategic advisory board as strategic adviser.
Smith previously served as deputy commanding general of Western Hemisphere Command, overseeing about 700,000 personnel with a $4.8 billion budget.
