Aurelion Deploys $48M in Tether Gold to XAUE Yield Protocol
Aurelion has deployed 10,000 Tether Gold units valued at $48 million into the Ethereum-based XAUE protocol while retaining 33,318 XAUT in its treasury. Institutional partners committed 16,052 XAUT ($76 million) at launch, bolstering Aurelion’s broader Tether Gold-backed treasury strategy backed by a prior $150 million financing round.
1. Allocation Details
Aurelion allocated 10,000 units of Tether Gold, valued at approximately $48 million, to the newly launched XAUE yield protocol, leaving its treasury with 33,318 XAUT units outside the protocol.
2. Protocol Mechanics
XAUE operates on Ethereum, converting XAUT into XAUE at a 1,000:1 ratio with a fixed token supply; yields accrue as increases in gold backing per XAUE token rather than direct payouts.
3. Institutional Participation
Aurelion joined ecosystem partners including Antalpha in seeding the protocol, contributing to a combined initial commitment of 16,052 XAUT (around $76 million) to support early liquidity and yield generation.
4. Strategic Rationale
This deployment advances Aurelion’s Tether Gold-backed treasury strategy, which follows a $150 million financing round last year, aiming to transform tokenized gold into an institutional-grade collateral and yield asset while preserving reserve-asset logic.
