AVAX One Launches 100 kW AI Inference Pilot, Paves Way for 10 MW Facility
AVX•AVAX One will launch a 100 kW AI inference pilot at its Redwater facility within 12 weeks to test converting excess Bitcoin mining capacity into higher-margin AI workloads. Pilot results will guide the design and commercialization of its planned 10 MW Tier-3 AI/HPC facility in Alberta due Q1 2027.
1. AI Inference Pilot Launch
AVAX One has initiated an AI inference pilot at its Redwater facility to convert approximately 100 kW of excess Bitcoin mining capacity to AI workloads. The pilot is expected to be operational within 12 weeks and is executed with an infrastructure development partner and an engineering firm conducting due diligence.
2. Economic Validation and Power Optimization
Preliminary internal assessments indicate AI inference could generate a multiple of Bitcoin mining's gross revenue per kilowatt-hour, with the highest returns from coding assistants and AI-agent workloads. Any idle capacity will automatically revert to Bitcoin mining, ensuring continuous revenue generation while validating the economic thesis.
3. Roadmap to 10 MW Tier-3 Facility
Findings from the pilot will inform the configuration and commercialization of a 10 MW Tier-3-ready AI/HPC facility in Alberta, targeted for client readiness in Q1 2027. This de-risking step supports the broader Western Canada expansion and underpins AVAX One’s power-first modular data center strategy.
