Aviat Networks Expands Microwave, E-Band Solutions for Nextlink’s $180M BEAD Buildout
AVNW•Aviat Networks will supply high-performance microwave, E-Band and multi-band systems to Nextlink’s BEAD-funded buildout, connecting thousands of unserved locations across 12 central US states. Nextlink, supported by $180 million in BEAD and $429.2 million in RDOF awards, expands its network infrastructure partnership to lower total cost of ownership.
1. Expanded Agreement with Nextlink
Aviat Networks has expanded its existing agreement with Nextlink Internet to deploy high-performance BABA-compliant microwave, E-Band and multi-band transport systems across Nextlink’s 12-state rural footprint, aiming to connect thousands of previously unserved and underserved locations under the BEAD buildout.
2. BEAD and RDOF Funding Support
Nextlink has secured $180 million in BEAD funding alongside $429.2 million from RDOF awards, and has activated its first BEAD-funded wireless tower, positioning the ISP to significantly scale its fixed wireless and fiber-supported network infrastructure.
3. Technology and Cost Efficiency
The expanded deployment leverages Aviat’s solutions to lower the total cost of ownership across Nextlink’s network, offering the performance and reliability needed to meet project timelines and accelerate rural broadband access.
