AYA•Aya Gold & Silver reduced freshwater use to 0.2 m³/tonne and cut GHG intensity to 22.06 per kt of ore in 2025, down from 0.4 m³ and 30.09 in 2024. It invested $1 million in community and training programs and tied 20% of executive incentives to ESG goals.
1. Environmental Performance
In 2025, Aya improved its water efficiency ratio from 0.4 to 0.2 m³ of freshwater per tonne of ore processed and reduced GHG emissions intensity from 30.09 to 22.06 per thousand tonnes. The company advanced water-saving measures, including anti-evaporation installations, and increased its use of renewable electricity to lower energy consumption.
2. Social Contributions
Aya allocated $1 million, representing 1.4% of net income before taxes, to support livelihood programs, education and skills development in host communities. The miner also boosted employee training by approximately 26%, enhancing workforce capabilities and community engagement.
3. Governance and Incentive Alignment
The company integrated ESG and climate metrics into its executive short-term incentive plan, allocating 20% of payouts to sustainability targets. Aya also increased female representation across the workforce and senior management and achieved higher ESG ratings from external agencies, reflecting strengthened accountability and disclosure.
