Bank of America Extends 30-Year Alaska Air Card Partnership, Sees 10% Portfolio Growth
Bank of America and Alaska Air Group extended their 30-year co-branded credit card agreement, shifting to a single issuer model and deepening integration of the Atmos Rewards program. Co-brand remuneration rose 10% in 2025, led by strong acquisitions and spend on the Summit Visa Infinite card.
1. Extended Co-Brand Agreement
Bank of America and Alaska Air Group extended their 30-year co-branded credit card agreement by multiple years and will transition to Bank of America as the sole issuer for Atmos Rewards cards. This move deepens a partnership that has supported loyalty benefits for Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines customers for over three decades.
2. Portfolio Growth and Summit Card Performance
Remuneration from the Atmos Rewards co-brand portfolio increased 10% in 2025, driven by the launch and strong performance of the Summit Visa Infinite card. The premium card attracted high-spending customers with features such as a 25,000-point Global Companion Award, annual lounge passes and three points per dollar on foreign transactions.
3. Integration and Customer Experience Enhancements
The renewed agreement includes increased investment in the Atmos Rewards brand, expansion of lounge programs, technology upgrades and refreshes of existing cards. Additional new card offerings and streamlined operations aim to improve the overall cardholder experience and support ongoing loyalty growth.
4. Strategic Value for Bank of America
As Bank of America’s largest co-brand partnership, the extended deal is expected to generate incremental value and strengthen long-term profitability. Enhanced integration and product enhancements should boost card acquisitions, spend levels and future revenue streams across the co-brand portfolio.
