Barclays publishes Q3 2026 results Q&A transcript
BCS•Barclays expects a 59-basis-point reduction in its Maximum Distributable Amount threshold and kept full-year revenue guidance at around £31.5 billion despite weaker-than-expected third-quarter income.
1. Capital and revenue outlook
On its October 22 third-quarter results call, Barclays said the expected 59-basis-point reduction in its Maximum Distributable Amount threshold would create capital flexibility not previously included in its plan. Management said capital targets and potential additional shareholder distributions will be reconsidered at year-end, following Basel 3.1 implementation. Full-year revenue guidance remains around £31.5 billion, supported by net interest income growth and financing revenues.
2. 2028 cost guidance
Management maintained guidance for modest cost growth from 2025 levels in 2028 and a low-50s% cost-to-income ratio, despite increased investment.
