BHP, Codelco sign agreement to advance Anillo copper exploration in Chile
BHP•BHP and Codelco signed an agreement to begin exploration at Chile’s Anillo project, allowing investment of up to US$40 million to assess its mineral potential and development prospects.
1. Exploration agreement
The agreement covers the 24,000-hectare Anillo property in Chile’s Antofagasta Region, which remains at an early exploration stage. The signing follows plans announced in May 2025 and completion of required regulatory approvals.
