Black Hills Corp Advances 1.8 GW Cheyenne Data Center with $200M Aid
BKH•Black Hills Corp continues advancing its proposed 1.8-gigawatt Cheyenne data center, working directly with the large-load customer following Crusoe’s exit. The customer has contributed more than $200 million in refundable construction aid and long-lead equipment procurement and substation agreements are in place.
1. Project Advancement
Black Hills is moving forward with its 1.8-gigawatt Cheyenne data center project, collaborating directly with the hyperscale customer after Crusoe’s departure to advance engineering and construction planning.
2. Financial Commitments
The customer has provided over $200 million in refundable contributions in aid of construction and signed long-lead equipment procurement and substation agreements to support milestone payments.
3. Timeline and Service Start
The project remains on track to begin service in early 2028 under the Wyoming utility’s Large Power Contract Service Tariff, with a CPCN filed for the supporting substation.
