BlackSky joins consortium for AI-enabled satellite constellation

BlackSky joined a consortium to build what the partners call the world’s largest artificial intelligence infrastructure in space.

The company was selected as the exclusive provider of very high-resolution electro-optical satellites using its Gen-3 system for an initial 50-satellite constellation.

The program targets users across France, Europe and the UAE, and the constellation will carry radar, optical and other sensors.

BlackSky’s role supports an AI-enabled intelligence platform designed to deliver imagery-based alerts in seconds.
