Boeing books $2.81B F-15K deal, Air Cambodia orders 20 737 MAX jets

BABA

Boeing won a $2.81B F-15K modernization contract and Air Cambodia ordered 20 737 MAX jets, marking its largest narrowbody sale. The planemaker plans a production 777X first flight in April while resolving a 777X engine seal durability issue and an Air India Dreamliner fuel switch defect.

1. Boeing Schedules First Production 777X Flight In April

An internal Boeing document obtained by Reuters indicates the planemaker is targeting April for the maiden flight of its first production 777X aircraft. This milestone follows completion of final assembly at the Everett, Washington facility and successful ground tests of the GE9X engines. The 777X program, which has been delayed by certification hurdles and design refinements, is now slated for first customer delivery in 2027. Achieving an April flight would mark a critical step toward meeting that timeline and restoring confidence among major airlines that have placed firm orders totaling over 300 aircraft across the 777-8 and 777-9 variants.

2. Bank Of America Reaffirms Buy Rating On Execution Momentum

Bank of America’s aerospace analysts have reiterated a Buy rating on Boeing shares, describing the company’s trajectory as “an execution story that has wings.” In a note to clients, the team highlighted that, despite industrial headwinds during the fourth quarter of 2025—including supply chain slowdowns and factory inefficiencies—Boeing’s underlying recovery remains robust. They believe ramping production of the 737 MAX to 57 jets per month by mid-2026 and stabilizing widebody output will underpin revenue growth exceeding 15% annually through 2027. The analysts further cited an improving margin profile driven by cost reduction initiatives launched in early 2025.

3. $2.81 Billion F-15 Fleet Modernization Deal With South Korea

Boeing has secured a $2.81 billion contract to upgrade South Korea’s fleet of 60 F-15K fighters, locking in sustainment work through 2037. Under the deal, Boeing will provide structural modifications, radar and avionics enhancements, and engine performance upgrades to extend each jet’s service life by at least 10 years. The program encompasses new APG-82(v)1 radars, Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems and re-engining options that improve fuel efficiency by 8%. Defense analysts note the contract solidifies Boeing’s position in the Asia-Pacific market and contributes roughly 5% to its annual defense segment revenue over the next decade.

4. Air Cambodia Places Largest Single-Aisle Order For 20 737 MAX

At the Singapore Airshow, Boeing announced it won an order for 20 737 MAX narrowbodies from Air Cambodia—its largest single-aisle purchase to date. The agreement includes 10 firm jets and options for 10 more, marking the carrier’s first acquisition of Boeing aircraft. Air Cambodia plans to deploy the 737 MAX on regional routes across Vietnam, Thailand, China, Japan and India, leveraging the jet’s 20% fuel burn improvement and range of up to 3,500 nautical miles. The deal deepens Boeing’s presence in Southeast Asia, where its market outlook forecasts demand for nearly 5,000 new single-aisle aircraft over the next 20 years.
