Boxabl named Shanmugam “Shan” Palaniappan as Chief Technology Officer to strengthen software, automation and AI capabilities ahead of its merger with FG Merger II Corp. Palaniappan’s two decades at Sagent, DataRobot and Salesforce support Boxabl’s plans to expand manufacturing capacity, product lines and international deployment.

1. Appointment of New CTO

BOXABL has appointed Shanmugam “Shan” Palaniappan as Chief Technology Officer. Palaniappan brings over 20 years of experience from roles at Sagent, DataRobot and Salesforce, where he led enterprise engineering teams and pioneered AI-enabled platforms. His dual master’s degrees from Harvard and Tennessee State University bolster his technical credentials for overseeing software, automation and AI initiatives.

2. Technology Strategy

In his new role, Palaniappan will spearhead the rearchitecture of BOXABL’s digital infrastructure, integrating real-time data, embedded intelligence and cloud-native systems across functions such as sales forecasting, cost modeling and supply chain optimization. The company expects this AI-driven transformation to significantly increase productivity and pave the way for seamless hardware-software integration in future modular housing production.

3. Merger with FG Merger II Corp

BOXABL is currently pursuing a business combination with FG Merger II Corp in a definitive merger agreement. The transaction aims to provide enhanced strategic flexibility, raise capital for expanding manufacturing capacity, develop new product lines and support international deployment of factory-built housing systems. Completion of the merger would align BOXABL’s technology roadmap with its growth objectives.
