Broadcom has unveiled VMware Telco Cloud Platform 9, a private cloud solution tailored for telco data centers integrating Cloud Foundation 9 with telco-specific enhancements. The platform offers a unified horizontal infrastructure to support 4G/5G core functions and data-intensive AI workloads on a single, open framework.

Platform 9 promises five-year cumulative TCO savings of 40% compared to siloed architectures, 25–30% lower power costs, 38% reduction in memory-server TCO via Advanced NVMe Memory Tiering and 38% lower storage TCO with vSAN ESA Global Deduplication, driving significant CAPEX and OPEX reductions.
3. AI and GPU Features
The AI-native solution includes private AI-as-a-Service with model stores and vector databases, GPU virtualization and multi-tenant GPU-as-a-service to optimize hardware use, real-time GPU health monitoring, automated lifecycle management and a low-code Agent Builder Service to accelerate AI deployments across telco networks.
