Callan JMB Unveils 150-Acre Atlas Complex in Alabama to Boost Pharmaceutical Onshoring
Callan JMB has partnered with Walker’s Pharmaceuticals of India to develop Atlas Complex, a 150-acre medical and pharmaceutical logistics campus in Marion, Alabama, aiming for Foreign-Trade Zone subzone status to enhance trade efficiencies. The project targets 250–300 jobs and multiple revenue streams from subleasing, facilities management and cold-chain services.
1. Partnership and Site Acquisition
Callan JMB completed a partnership agreement with Walker’s Pharmaceuticals of India to repurpose a 150-acre historic campus in Marion, Alabama. The collaboration with Monarch Property Management positions the site as an on-site international infrastructure platform supporting early-stage production, QA/QC, cold-chain logistics and domestic distribution.
2. FTZ Designation and Campus Features
The company plans to seek Foreign-Trade Zone subzone designation to enhance trade efficiencies and operational flexibility for tenant companies. Atlas Complex will feature adaptable laboratories, clean rooms, secure warehousing with full cold-chain capacity and scalable manufacturing infrastructure.
3. Economic Impact and Revenue Streams
Atlas Complex is expected to create 250–300 jobs in Marion and generate multiple long-term revenue streams through subleasing, facilities management and professional services. Leveraging Alabama’s port, rail and transport networks, the campus aims to reduce onshoring timelines and support federal pharmaceutical resilience priorities.
