Canadian dollar strengthens, benchmark yield climbs
FXC•Canadian dollar and benchmark yields move higher
The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Monday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed.
The loonie CAD= was trading 0.2% higher at C$1.3879 to the greenback, or 72.05 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3881 to 1.3911.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields CA10YT=RR rose 2.3 basis points to 3.749%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 4.752%.
U.S. October crude CLc1 futures rose $2.76 to $86.16 a barrel on Monday.
