Canadian dollar strengthens, benchmark yield climbs
TLT•The Canadian dollar rose 0.1% to C$1.4174 per U.S. dollar, while the Canadian 10-year government bond yield climbed 3.2 basis points to 3.999%. U.S. crude futures gained 98 cents to $90.36 a barrel.
1. Currency and bond moves
The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Wednesday, trading at C$1.4174 per U.S. dollar, or 70.55 U.S. cents, after moving between 1.4155 and 1.4199. Canada's 10-year government bond yield rose 3.2 basis points to 3.999%, while the comparable U.S. yield fell to 5.2426%; November U.S. crude futures rose 98 cents to $90.36 a barrel.
