Chord Energy sells non-operated Marcellus assets to POSCO International for $550 million

Closing is expected in Q4 2026, with an effective date of July 1, 2026. Chord Energy has received a $55 million deposit, with the balance due at closing.
The company said the transaction will allow its portfolio to focus exclusively on the Williston Basin and is expected to reduce annual capex by about $25 million.
Chord Energy agrees to sell Marcellus assets
Chord Energy agreed to sell its entire non-operated Marcellus position to POSCO International for total gross consideration of $550 million.
The assets include about 32,000 net acres and trailing 12-month production of about 121 MMcfpd of residue gas.
The deal value equates to about 6x adjusted EBITDA at $3.5/MMBtu Henry Hub.
