CIBC joins BIS-led Project Agorá cross-border payments initiative

CIBC will join Project Agorá, a global public-private initiative testing tokenization for wholesale cross-border payments. The project is developing a shared platform for tokenized commercial bank deposits and central bank reserves to enable atomic multi-currency settlement; CIBC plans to contribute to the next phase after real-value testing completed in July 2026.
