EXC• ComEd restores more than 275,000 customers after severe storms
- Exelon unit ComEd reported nearly 410,000 customer outages across northern Illinois following severe storms with wind gusts up to 96 mph.
- More than 275,000 customers have been restored; a fresh storm added over 35,000 outages, delaying work in the southern region.
- ComEd still targets restoring about 80% of outages by noon Aug. 13, rising to about 99% by 11 p.m. Aug. 15.
- Mutual-aid support arrived from East Coast utilities, including more than 150 overhead lineworkers and control-room operators.
