Danbury Schools Orders 30 AR/VR zSpace Devices Per Building for 12,000 Students
Danbury Public Schools has scaled its initial zSpace pilot from three middle and two high schools to district-wide deployments of 30 AR/VR devices per building, including alternative and expulsion programs. The expansion supports STEM, health sciences and career readiness curricula for over 12,000 students across 19 schools.
1. District Expands zSpace Deployment
What began as a May 2025 pilot across three middle schools and two high schools has evolved into a district-wide initiative. In January 2026 the rollout extended to alternative and expulsion programs, and in April 2026 each of the 19 participating schools received full classroom sets of 30 devices.
2. Curriculum and Career Readiness Integration
The expansion empowers hands-on learning in health sciences, chemistry, engineering and career readiness. Ninth graders use zSpace experiences alongside Career Coach AI for localized labor market insights, tying immersive lessons to future college and career pathways.
3. Equity and Access Initiative
The move ensures every student, regardless of program placement, has equal access to immersive STEM and career exploration tools. This aligns with the district’s Academies model serving over 12,000 students and emphasizes student-centered engagement.
4. Potential Financial Impact
Securing a large-scale deployment in Connecticut’s seventh-largest district bolsters zSpace’s commercial footprint in K–12 education. This multi-building order could contribute meaningful revenue growth as the company pursues additional district contracts.
