
At ADA, Eli Lilly will unveil Phase 3 data showing Foundayo outperformed semaglutide and dapagliflozin in type 2 diabetes and retatrutide delivered up to 28.3% weight loss plus 2% A1C drop. CVS Caremark will restore Zepbound coverage Oct. 1 and add Foundayo from June 1, driving shares to record highs.
Eli Lilly will present new data at the ADA Scientific Sessions June 5–8 in New Orleans covering its cardiometabolic portfolio, including the oral GLP-1 candidate Foundayo and the once-weekly triple receptor agonist retatrutide.
Phase 3 ACHIEVE results show Foundayo lowered A1C by up to 1.7% versus dapagliflozin’s 0.8% at 40 weeks and achieved 73.6% greater relative weight loss than oral semaglutide at 52 weeks. Retatrutide’s TRIUMPH-1 and TRANSCEND-T2D-1 studies demonstrated average weight loss of 28.3% (70.3 lbs) at 80 weeks and A1C reductions up to 2.0% with 16.8% weight loss at 40 weeks in type 2 diabetes.
CVS Caremark will restore Zepbound coverage on commercial formularies beginning October 1 and start covering Foundayo from June 1, expanding patient access to Lilly’s obesity treatments with a $25 monthly copay for eligible commercial plan members.
Following the ADA disclosures and CVS formulary changes, Lilly shares climbed to an all-time high of $1,147.95, lifting the company’s market capitalization above $1 trillion and setting a new record close.
