Fortrea agreed to buy Worldwide Clinical Trials’ Early Phase Services division in an all-cash deal valued at about $45 million.
- Assets include a 60,000-square-foot GLP bioanalytical lab in Austin and a 200-bed GCP clinical pharmacology unit in San Antonio.
- The transaction adds in-house large and small molecule bioanalytical capabilities, expanding Fortrea’s North American early-phase capacity.
- The business will be folded into Fortrea’s Clinical Pharmacology Services unit once the deal closes.
- Closing remains subject to regulatory and licensing approvals, along with certain services agreements between the companies.
