Four AI-Selected Compounds Achieve Up to 50% ANT1 Boost in Phase III
ELAB•NorthStrive Biosciences validated four AI-selected small-molecule candidates in Phase III detecting significant ANT1 protein induction in primary human skeletal muscle cells. The strongest compounds delivered dose-dependent ANT1 increases of 50%, 48%, 46% and 29%, prompting confirmatory testing toward advanced muscle models.
1. Phase III Program Details
Phase III of the NorthStrive–Yuva collaboration used MitoNova AI to select a focused set of small-molecule candidates for biological validation in primary human skeletal muscle cells. This stage aimed to confirm activity around ANT1, a mitochondrial protein central to skeletal muscle energy metabolism, setting the stage for further pipeline development.
2. Key ANT1 Induction Results
Four AI-selected compounds, labeled C1 through C4, each produced statistically significant ANT1 expression increases: C2 achieved up to +50%, C4 up to +48%, C1 up to +46%, and C3 +29% at the highest dose. The dose-dependent response across multiple candidates validates the platform’s ability to identify biologically active molecules.
3. Planned Next Steps
Based on these results, NorthStrive and Yuva plan confirmatory testing in a more mature, energy-demanding skeletal muscle model to verify sustained ANT1 induction. Positive outcomes in this next stage will de-risk development and support progression toward therapeutic applications in muscle preservation.
