FreightCar America completed the acquisition of Southern Parts & Equipment, a regional distributor of new, used and reconditioned railcar parts and equipment.

• The deal expands the buyer’s aftermarket distribution footprint, marking its second railcar aftermarket acquisition within the past year.
• Southern Parts also provides rail industry consulting, inspections and project-related services.
• Management expects the transaction to be immediately accretive.
