Gentex will integrate Hörmann’s connected garage door opener into the HomeLink automation system for European customers, enabling secure cloud-based open/close commands from vehicles or the HomeLink app. The integration uses Long-Range Bluetooth and RF to deliver cloud garage control to nearly 110 million HomeLink units worldwide.
Gentex and Hörmann have agreed to integrate Hörmann’s connected garage door opener technology into Gentex’s HomeLink system, enabling drivers to remotely open and close compatible garage doors via the HomeLink app or directly through cloud commands in connected vehicles.
The integration leverages radio frequency, Long-Range Bluetooth and cloud-based technology to activate Hörmann garage door systems, extending cloud control to nearly 110 million HomeLink units installed across almost 300 vehicle models from over 50 automaker brands.
This collaboration expands Gentex’s HomeLink ecosystem in Europe, strengthens its position in automotive-to-smart-home automation, and opens new revenue opportunities by integrating a leading European access control provider into its vehicle-based control platform.
