GM’s 2025 Deliveries Rise 5.5% Despite Q4 Dip; Cadillac Escalade IQ Wins 2026 SUV Award

In 2025 GM led U.S. auto sales with full-year deliveries up 5.5% despite a Q4 sales and EV volume decline after Q3 momentum. Its Cadillac Escalade IQ, featuring a 55-inch Altia-powered HMI display, won MotorTrend’s 2026 SUV of the Year, underscoring GM’s EV luxury appeal.

1. GM Shares Slip Despite Broader Market Strength

General Motors shares declined by approximately 1.2% on the most recent trading session, underperforming a market that posted modest gains. The pullback followed investor concerns about near-term margin pressure as raw-material costs for steel and lithium remain elevated. Volume traded was about 15% above the 30-day average, suggesting heightened investor activity. Analysts at three major firms maintained a neutral rating, citing uncertainty around production ramp-ups for the next generation of electric models.

2. U.S. Auto Leadership and Delivery Trends in 2025

GM led U.S. auto sales in calendar-year 2025, delivering roughly 2.4 million vehicles—a 5.5% increase from 2024 totals. The full-year performance was bolstered by strong demand for pickup trucks and SUVs, which accounted for 68% of volume. However, fourth-quarter unit sales dipped 1.8% year-over-year, and EV deliveries retreated by 3.8% after an exceptionally strong third quarter. Management attributes the Q4 softness to a combination of supply-chain bottlenecks for battery cells and the end of certain federal EV incentives.

3. Cadillac Escalade IQ HMI Partnership Highlights Innovation

GM’s collaboration with software vendor Altia was spotlighted when the all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ earned MotorTrend’s 2026 SUV of the Year award. The vehicle showcases a 55-inch seamless digital cockpit powered by Altia’s HMI graphics software, integrating navigation, climate control and driver-assistance alerts. GM noted that the new interface reduces system latency to under 50 milliseconds, enhancing user responsiveness. Executives say this technology represents a strategic differentiator in the high-end EV segment, one that could support incremental pricing of up to $2,500 per vehicle.
