Goodyear to close Niagara Falls, Bayport chemical plants, take $55 million-$75 million pre-tax charges

1. Plant closures and charges
Goodyear plans to close its chemical manufacturing sites in Niagara Falls and Bayport, targeting completion by the end of 2027. The plan includes about 85 job cuts and $55 million to $75 million in total pre-tax charges, including about $30 million in cash charges. The company expects about $35 million of charges in the third quarter of 2026 and about $15 million more during the rest of the year. It expects the move to lift Americas segment operating income by about $15 million to $20 million annually starting in 2027.
